Monomoy

This video is from a recent trip to fish with my faithful canine companion, Peaches, in the rips off of the end of Monomoy Island at Chatham MA in my 19 ft center console. A little tricky given the size of the waves and speed of the current. Monomoy is a long island that extends south from Chatham into Nantucket Sound. This is where the sound opens into the ocean. There are strong tidal currents and numerous shoals which create a perfect environment for striper fishing. On this day I caught five keeper bass and a few shorts. Bass were busting on squid at the edges of the rip. To see photos from several other recent trips see http://picasaweb.google.com/SteveKirkFisherman/JuneJulyFisihingTrips
