Winter Fly Fishing in Western MA
&
Salmon On The Fly - Bonaventure
& Miramichi Rivers, Canada
Tuesday,
February 11, 2014 7:00 – 9:00p.m.
Tom and Dan Harrison from Harrison
Anglers specialize in guided float trips on the Deerfield and other Western
MA rivers. The Deerfield is a great wild trout
fishery with rainbow, brown, and brook trout. The lower Deerfield has a spring
shad run and smallmouth bass throughout the year. They will discuss
river access, fly selection, water conditions for big fish, and tips for wading
and float fishing, with an emphasis on winter fishing.
Worldwide fly fisherman and Concord Rod and Gun Club
member, Glen Urban will discuss some great rivers for Atlantic Salmon fishing just
across the border in Canada. His talk will review two options; The
Bonaventure and Miramichi River and will include logistics, techniques, flies,
rods, guides, and lodges. This is a type of fishing that requires
patience and persistence, but the leaping salmon are a deserving reward for the
effort. He welcomes other salmon fishermen to please come and share your
experiences.
This is a great opportunity for
novices or experienced anglers alike to learn new fly fishing locations within
easy reach of our area and to network with other local anglers. All locations
can also be fished with spinning gear.
Seminar is free and open to the public.
